Soil and Land Testing
Its amazing how many people buy land but know little about the soil resources contained and their condition. LRS offers a service to assess their health over three categories: soil fertility, physical condition and biology.
We provide a rundown on these properties to make sure that your farm or lifestyle block plan starts out on the best foot. We undertake or arrange sampling of your property to test for soil fertility, soil biology and soil physical condition. We research the soil classification and units for your area, the waterholding capacity of the soil, and any other possible factors that might affect the potential of your land to deliver good results and present it to you all in an easy-to-read report.

Our easy-to-read reports means that you get a rundown on your land's soil properties quickly and what might need remediation or improvement.
From here we can then make recommendations according to your preferred approach and help get he best out of your soil.
Cost
A cost of $150 +GST for an initial visit and to gather property information is charged and then test costs are additional to this. Test costs are shown on a per sample basis and are exclusive of GST. We recommend at least one mixed sample per paddock. Take advantage of getting all three tests for a 20% discount.

Note
1. Soil fertility test includes soil pH, available phosphorus, calcium, magnesium, potassium, sulphate and base saturation.
2. Soil biology test includes soil organic matter content (soil carbon and nitrogen), soluble carbon (measure of microbial food source), soil microbial biomass, soil respiration and metabolic quotient (measure of soil microbial efficiency).
3. Soil structure test includes soil aggregation, soil porosity, soil bulk density, mottling (if present), available waterholding capacity and earthworm numbers.
4. Travel is included to within a 10 km radius of our site in Lincoln. Travel beyond this will incur a $1 per km travelled.
